Motivation -- for the handler!

Here's a hint gleaned from the Obedience Competition list that I liked for motivating a handler deep in the blahs:

Buy yourself a cheap timer and go to your training place and tell yourself you will only have to train for 10 minutes (for me that seems a reasonably short time). Set the timer and when it rings you can quit with no guilty conscience. What I find when I do this is that I often train past the 10 minutes because I've hit a snag I want to work out, or I am actually having enough fun to continue. Once the 10 minutes is no problem increase the time by 5 minute increments. When you get to the spot when you turn the timer off and keep training without an eye on the clock, you're past the blahs.
